On 7 February 1884, Charles married Harriet Gazelda (Hattie) Mullins. They lived in Noble County until the mid-1890's when they headed West. They settled near Loomis in Okanogan County, Washington. There they raised stock and hay and six children.
Charles and Hattie moved to Port Orchard in the 1930. She died 20 April 1937 and he followed 19 months later on 19 November 1938.

Blanche Pearl Adair Owens (18 Jun 1887 – Feb 1975, married Ralph Owens),
James Thurlow Adair (3 Jun 1889 – 26 May 1949),
Icie Fern Adair Owens (6 Dec 1892 – 1967, married Glen A Owens);
Eva Letha Adair (15 Dec 1896 – 2 Feb 1990), and
Alice Adair (Dec 1899 – ?).
