CACHE — Funeral for Marian C. Almanza, 75, Cache, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Indiahoma High School Auditorium. A prayer service will be from 7-9 p.m. today at Comanche Nation Funeral Home. Mrs. Almanza died Thursday, May 22, 2003, at a Lawton hospital. Burial will be at Post Oak Cemetery, Indiahoma. She was born Dec. 19, 1927, to Thomas and Emily Weekahwoonard Chebahtah. She married Raymond Roy Almanza on July 19, 1957, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was a member of the Comanche Nation and a member of the Post Oak Mennonite Brethren Church of Indiahoma. She was the granddaughter of Chebahtah and the great-granddaughter of Chief Wildhorse. She was also distantly related to Quanah Parker. She was instrumental in the formation of the Chief Wildhorse descendants, and was the first secretary/treasurer for the group. Survivors include her husband, of the home; a daughter, Ramona Almanza, Cache; a brother, William Chebahtah, San Antonio; a nephew, Cliford Chebahtah, Riverside, Calif.; and two nieces: Neenah Chebahtah and Ruth Chebahtah, both of Anadarko. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
