COALVILLE--Charles Owen Wilde, 84, died Friday, Oct. 10, 1997 in Heber City, Utah.

He was born Nov. 11, 1912 in Coalville, Utah to Charles Ernest and Della Nix Wilde. On Feb. 5, 1937 he married Alice May Jones in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He had retired from the Utah Highway Patrol and was a lifetime resident of Coalville. He was active in the LDS Church and had served in Scouting, in the Bishopric, on a mission and various other church assignments.

Surviving are his wife, Alice, of Coalville; two sons, Ralph, Las Vegas, Nev.; John, Santa Clarita, Calif.; three daughters, Bonita Thacker, West Valley, Utah; Margaret Wilde and Marsha Cotton, both of Coalville, Utah; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Carl "Kelly", Coalville; Verl and Walden, both of Salt Lake City; two sisters, Eileen Richins, Henefer, Utah; and May Lewis, Marion, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ren, and one sister, Myrtle Williams Matthews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 13, 1997 at 12 noon in the Coalville Stake Chapel. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary in Coalville, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment, Coalville City Cemetery.
