Mrs. Sarah A. McNaughton, mother of Fire Marshall Albert G. Dolby. Burial at Venus.
--------------
Mrs. Sarah A McNaughton died at the home of her son, Harry H. Dobly in Oil City, Pa., at 12:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, August 27, 1912, after a brief illness. Mrs. McNaughton whose home was at Helen Furnace, went to Oil City four weeks ago to visit her sons, Albert, William and Harry, and two weeks ago an abscess developed on her left shoulder, caused primarily by an accident she met with some years ago when she fell and broke her should blade. Following an operation upon the abscess, septic poison developed and since that time little hope was held out to relatives that she might recover.

Her maiden name was Grant and she was born in Berks Co., Pa., May 24, 1840. She was married to Abraham Dolby and came to Clarion county with him soon after their marriage, locating near Shippenville. Mr. Dolby's death occurred about 30 years ago and she married the second time to Duncan McNaughton about 20 years ago, since which time her home has been at Helen Furnace. She is survived by the following children: William T., Harry H. and A.G. Dolby, of Oil City; Mrs. Wm. Schwab, of Newmanville; Mrs. Albert Boyd, of North Pine Grove; Amos I. Dolby, of Tylersburg; John P. Dolby, of Miola and Mrs. Edward Johnson, of Idaho.

She was a member of the M.E. church of Helen Furnace, and no woman in all that section of Clarion county stood higher in the estimation of neighbors and acquaintances. She was a tender, loving and devoted mother, noted for her industry in a section of the country where all the women are industrious and ready and anxious at all times to minister to her neighbors in sickness or distress of any kind.
