Funeral services for John R. Phillips, 50, of Chandler, were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Baptist Church in that town with Rev. Milton Chambers and Dr. G.F. Moon conducting the services. Burial followed at Bullard, former home of the deceased.
Mr. Phillips died suddenly Thursday morning from a heart attack suffered last Sunday. He had been confined to his bed since Sunday.
He was born in Bullard but had lived at Chandler for some time.
Survivors include three sons, Talmadge, John M. and Joe Paul Phillips, all of Chandler; two brothers, L.D. Phillips of Tyler and C.A. Philips of Bullard; three sisters, Mrs. C.M. Burk, Mrs. E.E. Horton of Whitehouse and Mrs. Beth Hale of Dallas.
