Funeral services for Joe Paul Phillips, age 87, of Tyler, will be 3pm Thursday at the Tyler Memorial Park Field of Honor Mausoleum with Bro. Tom Crawford officiating.
Mr. Phillips was born on May 15, 1930, in Lubbock to John Robert & Thula Collins Phillips and passed away on October 24, 2017 in Tyler. He lived in Tyler most of his life, a member of East Tyler Baptist Church and worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for many years.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife of 63 years Loretta Phillips, grandson, Kirk Chambers and wife, Summers of Palestine, great-grandchildren, Alexis Chambers & Garrett Chambers both of Palestine, and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Paula Chambers, brothers, Tal Phillips, John Phillips, sisters, Opal Phillips, Lena Beddingfield, Ruth Herren and Nona Hunter.
