Ludington Daily News, 2 August 1938: "ANDREW JOHNSON DIES THIS MORNING. Andrew Johnson, 212 East Danaher street, passed away at 6 o'clock this morning at Paulina Stearns hospital, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Johnson was born Nov. 19, 1861, in Holland, Sweden, and had been a resident of Ludington for 59 years. He worked in the sawmill here for years. Mr. Johnson's wife, Caroline, preceded him in death in 1903. Surviving are four sons, Arthur and Walter of Ludington, Algot of St. Joseph and Hugo of Buffalo, N.Y. a sister, Mrs. Frank Johnson of Washington and nine grandchildren. The body will be taken from Dorrell chapel to the Walter Johnson home, 212 East Danaher street, where the deceased had made his home for the past nine years. Services will be conducted by Rev. J. A. Landin at the home at 2 p.m. Thursday and at 2:30 p.m. at Emanuel Lutheran church, with which Mr. Johnson had been affiliated. Interment will be made in Lakeview cemetery."
