George Fauver was the son of Henry and Maria Elisabeth Fauver of Pittsgrove, Salem, NJ, He was also brother of Henry and Frederick Fauver, who were all Revolutionary War Patriots. Records show that both he and brother Joseph were baptized on 29 October 1754 at the Swedish Lutheran Church of Penns Neck, New Jersey.
According to the "Application For Headstone Or Marker", George enlisted in the Revolutionary War in April 1776 as a Private in New Jersey and was discharged in 1779.

September 1777 he served 6 mos. wagon service under Capt. Robert Patterson and Col. Hugg with his brother Henry Fauver. In the spring of 1778 enlisted as a private in Capt. Peck's Co...."
