Elizabeth 'Betsy'...

Elizabeth Snethen & Jonathan Cox were married Sept. 5, 1835 in Montgomery Co. Ohio. In this union they had 5 children:
Elisha Cox, Susanna Cox-Morris, Matilda Cox-Ibaugh, ANTIS JANE Cox-Brown, Mary Cox-Coppock.
Elizabeth & Jonathan moved from Montgomery Co. Ohio to Taylor Twp., Howard Co. Ind. They lived on the Southwest Corner of St Rd 26 and 400 East Howard Co. Owned 40 acres at the NE Quarters of the Ne Quarter of Section 27, Twp 23, Range 4 E in 1963.Owned 40 acres at the Se Quarter of the Sw Quarter of section 21, twp 23 Range 4 E. in 1965. Later moved to Grant Co Indiana, on a farm on the South side of St Rd 22, just E of SR 9. Jonathan Cox died Dec 9, 1881 & is buried Riverside Cem Gas City In- Elizabeth d. Nov. 29, 1903 in ANTIS JANE Cox-Brown home in Marion, In-near 30th & 26th St. on Torrence Street. Buried next to Jonathan Cox.

Cox Elizabeth [Snethen]
Mrs. Elizabeth Cox, age 86y. Died Sunday evening at the home of her son in law, William Brown; corner of Torrence & 26th street. Death was due to general dibility.
The deceased has been a resident of marion for several years. Several children survive her. The funeral will take place at the reidence at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Burial in the IOOF Cemetery Gas City, Indiana

Family Note:
Elizabeth Snethen Cox smoked pipe, her mother died of TB.
Elizabeth learned to smoke because her mother smoked & she had to light her pipe for her.

William b. 1792 Kentucky-A methodist minister in Ohio, later converted into a new light christian church. Abraham,"The Barefoot Preacher",is Rev. William brother.William died in Cass Co. Indiana & buried Crooked Creek Christian Church Cemetery where he, son, and brother all preached together.
Rev. William s/o William & Hannah Castro/Casto Snethen. Hannah buried Clark Cem./Liberty Twp./White Co. In; d/o John
Rev. William was a preacher & farmer.
