Known for her quick wit and ability to turn daily experiences into wonderful stories, Carolyn was an active member of the Spartanburg community. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church going back to the Cradle Roll Department. She served on the boards of the Georgia Cleveland Home, The Junior League, and numerous other civic organizations. Gardening and reading were among her favorite activities, and she was nicknames "Rab" because of her love for the story of Peter Rabbit. Her greatest joy was reading to and playing with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by daughters Louise Hagy of Landrum, SC and Jane Allen of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Roger Hagy, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Carolyn Hagy of Southern Pines, John Hagy of Bakersville, NC, Laura Noel of Atlanta, GA, Connie Haley of Nashville, TN and Russ Allen of Crofton, MD; and seven great grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Tryon Presbyterian Church 430 Harmon Field Road, Tryon, NC 28782, Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722 or to another organization of your special caring.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Friday at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Dave Hosick. Visitation will follow at the cemetery.
