Estherville – Services for Mrs. Earl (Beatrice) Barfoot, 76, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Henry and Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with interment in East Side Cemetery. The Rev. Dan Swanson of the Union Baptist Church and John McManness will officiate the service. Mrs. Barfoot died Monday, Oct. 17, 1983 in the Beth Israel Hospital in Denver, Colo.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday and until time of services on Friday.
Beatrice H. [Hattie] Palmer was born Dec. 24, 1906 at Granada, Minn., the daughter of Wellington and Hattie Palmer. She attended the Granada schools. On Aug. 22, 1922 she was united in marriage with Earl Barfoot at Chicago, Ill. The couple lived in Chicago and Mason City before moving to Estherville. Mr. Barfoot died in 1972.
Survivors include four sons: Paul, Richton, Ill., Robert, Woodbridge, Va., Marvin, Paris, Calif. and Donald, Canton, S.D.; five daughters: Mrs. Norman (Mary Ann) Rasmussen, Ringsted, Mrs. Carol Moffitt, Estherville; Mrs. D.L. (Norraine) Tussler, Spirit Lake, Mrs. Rosemary Feekes, Canton, S.D., and Mrs. Donna Miller, Denver; two sisters: Mrs. Alma Bromley, Fairmont, Minn. and Mrs. Gladys McIawain, Marysville, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; six brothers; four sisters; two grandsons and one great-granddaughter. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 20, 1983)
