Bishop Albert Jefferson Linville, 90
Bishop Albert Jefferson Linville, 90, of Fries, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at Beverly Blue Ridge Healthcare.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice J. Linville.
He was born March 16, 1914, in Wythe County to Thomas Jefferson and Rachel Bowers Linville.
Survivors include eight daughters and sons-in-law, Alice and Jimmy Dunford and Wanda and jack Marshall, all of Fries, Ruth and Vernon Beasley, Esther and Wade Easter and Lou and Wayne Barker, all of Mount Airy, N.C., Darlene and Richard Porter of Winston-Salem, N.C., Sherry and Robbie Hooven of Galax and Connie and Freddie Bonds of Patrick Springs; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James and Ruby Linville and David Linville, all of Fries; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Helen Freeman of Pulaski, Mildred Stroupe of Kernersville, N.C., Clara Lee Chappell and Loretta and J.B. Burkhart, all of Kernersville, N.C.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Irene Linville of Pulaski and Ed and Mavis Linville of Salem; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held Sunday at the Fries Church of God of Prophecy with burial in the Mount Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Claude Holderfield, Timmy Dunford, Bishop Fred Fisher Sr. and Bishop Robert Davis officiated.
