Gust Chris Beeck, 78, Alcester, SD, died Tuesday, October 25, 1988, at the Hawarden Community hospital, Hawarden, Iowa, after a brief illness.
Mr. Beeck was born October 11, 1910 in Fehmarn, Germany to Fred and Wilhelmina (Jahn) Beeck. When he was two years old he came to the United States with his parents and they settled at Akron, Iowa. He married Edith Albright November 27, 1937 at LeMars. She passed away in 1965. He married Mary Jane White Blomberg at Chatsworth, Iowa, July 30 1970. He farmed near Akron for 60 years and moved to Chatsworth for 7 years. He lived the past 10 years in Alcester. He retired in 1982.
He was a former member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church at Chatsworth and was a member of Nathanael Lutheran Church and the Senior Citizen's group of Alcester.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Dora) Kjose of Spink,SD; a son Terry Lee Beeck of Redfield SD, three step-daughters: Mrs. Donald (Corrine) Maske of Hartford SD, Mrs. Dan (Wanda) Vanderham of Geddes SD and Mrs. Howard (Connie) Hieb of Valley Springs SD, a sister, Sophie Johnson, of Craig, Iowa; 5 brothers: Chris, Hank, Albert, Emil and Alvin, all of Akron; 2 grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, a son Richard, his first wife Edith, and 3 brothers, Bill, John, and Carl.
