GEORGETOWN - Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away September 12, 2010, in Murray, Utah, of causes incident to age.

She was born June 8, 1922, to Isaac and Martha Jane (Hymas) Johnson in Ovid, Idaho. She attended grade school in Ovid and graduated from Fielding High School.

She married John Russell Solum, December 1, 1945, in Pocatello, Idaho, later solemnized in the Logan Temple, April 10, 1970. Russell died March 4, 1969.

June lived in Georgetown, Idaho for 43 years and in the Salt Lake City area for 22 years. She was very active in the LDS Church, serving as Junior Sunday school teacher, counselor in Primary, secretary of Relief Society, visiting teacher, and member of the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers. She loved yard work, cooking, singing, dancing, and was an avid Jazz fan.

She is survived by four children, Lorna (Gary) Fannin, Shelley (Dave) Purrington of West Jordan, Utah, Blaine R. Solum, Henderson, Nevada, Brad Solum, Montpelier, Idaho; five granddaughters and one grandson; and 14 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Leah Johnson, of Smithfield, Utah, Romola Solum, of Montpelier, Idaho, and Virgie (Tom) Wood, of Wasilla, Alaska; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, seven brothers, two sisters, and a very special friend, Mike Barker, (Blaine's life partner).

We love you, Mom.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18 at 11 a.m. in the Georgetown Chapel. A viewing will be held from 9 until 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Georgetown, Idaho Cemetery.
