Robert Wayne Bastian, 80, of Kendallville, a retired carpenter, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at Shepherd of the Hill in Kendallville.

"He was a loving husband, father and grandfather."

The Fort Wayne native retired in 1983 from General Electric Co. after 42 years of service. He was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church and a member of Pretty Lake Conservation Club and GE Quarter Century Club.

Surviving are his wife, Jo; sons Kevin W. and Jay A., both of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Donna J. Richard of Fort Wayne; brothers John P. of Fort Myers, Fla., and David H. of Fort Wayne; and six grandchildren.

Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Christ United Methodist Church, 1101 McKinnie Ave, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour before services. Calling is also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
