Born in Willshire, Ohio, he graduated from Central High School and retired in 1977 after 44 years, as a tool and die maker for General Electric and was an active member of the Simpson United Methodist Church, all in Fort Wayne. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America, earning the Silver Beaver Award. Since 1978, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ft. Myers.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maxine (Kryder) Bastianof North Ft. Myers; daughter, Judith A. Bastian of North Ft. Myers; brother, David H. Bastian of Fort Wayne; nephew, Douglas Bastian of Fort Wayne; and niece, Sue E. Thompson of Indianapolis.
Memorial Service is 10 a.m. Monday at the Hope Hospice House North, 2430 Diplomat Parkway East, Cape Coral, FL 33909. The family would prefer memorial gifts be sent in his memory to either the First United Methodist Church Christmas Concert, c/o Music Dept., 2466 First Street, Ft.Myers, FL 33901 or the above named Hospice. Arrangements by the North Ft. Myers Memorial Funeral Home.
