The last rites were held for Mrs Gordon Hill, 69, at the Church of Christ, Monday afternoon, with Joe Crumley and
C.L. Taylor officiating. She died Friday in a Chickasha hospital after a lingering illness. She was a pioneer of the Tuttle vicinity, having lived here about 60 years. She moved to a farm south of Amber a few years ago, where her husband preceded her in death. She is survived by 2 sons, Wayne of Amber, & Wade of Tuttle, and 2 grandchildren.
Music was provided by an acapella choir; Mr & Mrs Clarence Freeze, Mrs Romona Scott, Nash Hughes, Ealmer Klippel, Wanda Klippel, Terry Park, & Mrs Lester Stowe. Pallbearers were: R.B. Hannah, Newborn Kennedy, Fred Smith, Stevie Chenoweth, Claude Haywood, & Elmer Wilburn. Burial was in the Tuttle cemetery under the direction of the Sowers funeral home.
Frone Emiline McDaniel Hill, daughter of Mr & Mrs W.J. McDaniel, was born in Bentonville, Ark, 2/7/1885, and died 5/7/1954 at a Chickasha hospital after an extended illness. At an early age, she & her parents went to Cleburne, TX, moving in 1891 to Indian Territory, settling near Newcastle. After attending school in Newcastle, Elm Grove, and the University of Oklahoma, she taught school at Waldon in 1901 and 1903. In 1903, she married E.G. Hill, and they had 2 sons, W.W. Hill of Chickasha & W.R. Hill of Tuttle. Her husband preceded her in death in 1945. She obeyed the Lord in baptism about 1900. She leaves to mourn her passing, a brother, M.D. McDaniel, her 2 sons, 2 grandchildren, Ronnie Hill of the home address, & Freddie Hill of Tuttle.
