Burton Samuel Rupp, 84, 1325 E. 2100 South, died Monday at 12:45 p.m. in a St. George hospital after a major operation.

He was born April 11, 1868 in Toledo, Ohio, a son of Joseph and Cornelia Miner Rupp. He married Matilda West in 1886. [1885, later divorced] She died several years ago. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include three sons, Burton W. Rupp, Los Angeles; Alma M. Rupp, Las Vegas, Nevada; H. L. Rupp, Alameda, California; six daughters, Mrs. J.E. (May) Johnson, Mrs. David (Ruth) Johnson, Mrs. Grant (Maria) Snow, all of Salt Lake city; Mrs. Hattie Smith, Hollywood, California; Mrs. C.K. (LaVon) Halton, Eugene, Oregon; Mrs. James Hayes, Gary, Indiana; 50 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3:45 p.m. in the Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 E. south Temple. Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday prior to the services, interment City Cemetery under direction of Larkin Mortuary.
