E W and his wife, Alma (Castilow) Robinson resided in McCullough. They lived in the large white house on the corner of Smithfield Road across the street from the original McCullough Baptist Church. Together, they raised eight children.
Later E W and Alma ran a dry goods store, which also offered groceries. The store was located in McCullough.
After closing the store, E W became a top notch Collier Encyclopedia door-to-door salesman. He won many of the sales contests, and furnished his home with his winnings.
His winnings included china, silverware, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, coffee table, two sets of encyclopedia, set of fairy tale books, and cash winings. You name it and he won it.
He was especially proud of winning the special edition Rolex gold watch. He would show it to everyone who came to visit.
Eventually Collier Encyclopedia asked him to become an officer of the company. E W declined, saying he only had an 8th grade education, and they should appoint someone more educated.
He was a smart business man. His property holdings included farmland, rental properties and a pecan orchard. He raised crops, cattle and chickens.
E W was known for his wonderful sense of humor. He could make anyone laugh and of course, he would always have the last word.
He had a great love of family, and assisted in raising some of his grandchildren.
