Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" "Sis" Corn was the eldest child of Matthew Dewitt Corn and his first wife Laurl. She was born in Henderson North Carolina and was ten years old when her Mother died.

20 of November 1872 she married James Cobb in Laurel County Kentucky. They had 12 children in 22 years of marriage.

Her husband, James died in July of 1915 and Lizzie died in September of the same year. They are buried together in the Cornn cemetery.
