Mabel McDonald Bloom
Funeral services were held March 6 at 2:30 from the Messer-Johnson Memorial Home for Mabel McDonald Bloom of Wadena who passed away March 3 at Wesley Hospital.
Pastor M.W. Deming of the Seventh Day Adventist church officiated with interment in the Wadena cemetery. Messer-Johnson Memorial Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bloom was 74.
She was born to parents Henry and Ella Mangles, Mabel Mae Mangles, June 19, 1896, in Morrison County and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church.
She married Ira E. McDonald in 1914 who passed away in 1944. To this union were born five children; Dorothy Mae who preceded her mother; Mrs. Charles Buchanen (Ella) of Wadena; Mrs. Wesley Messer (Hazel) of Bertha; Charles McDonald of Pengilly; Mrs. Charles Plautz (Marian) of Nashwauk.
She was married to Millard Bloom in 1949 and thy lived in Wadena until the time of her passing. She has one stepdaughter, Mrs. Ed Fyten of Wadena. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Elsie Johnson, Ottowa, Ill.; one brother, Ray Mangles of Minneapolis; besides 26 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. One daughter and one stepson preceded her.
Casketbearers were six grandsons: James and David McDonald, Robert and Daniel Buchanen, Richard Messer and Jack Plautz.
