Mrs. Ethel Gladys Gowen, age 78, died
in a Portland hospital after a long illness.
Wife of Harry Gowen, residents of Biddeford.
She was a 1907 graduate of of Kennebunk High School and for a period of time was employed at Youland's Department Store at Biddeford.
She was a member of Adah Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star Biddeford; the Thursday Club at Biddeford; Delta Alpha Club; and the Biddeford Community Club. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Saco and Biddeford, and of the Daughters of Ruth of the church.
Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
