The fourth child of Jonas and Elizabeth Bradshaw is alternately named "Jonas" or "Jonah" in the available records. It is "Jonah" in his mother's Revolutionary War pension records, which prove his parentage, so that is what I will use here. Jonah married Elizabeth White(1789-1861) in Lincoln County, NC in 1818. They had seven children, five boys and two girls. The first four, Field Monroe, William L., William Jonas, and Sarah A. were born in NC. The family moved to eastern Harris County, GA prior to the birth of the fifth child about 1828. The last three children, James Madison, John, and Margaret Ann, were born there. The area, at that time, was called "Milner's District." A small town named Cleola was later established and is shown on some maps, but this was not until after the railroad was built in about 1887. Elizabeth died there in 1861 and Jonah followed in 1871. Their graves have not been found. Local residents say their graves, and others, were destroyed by a massive storm in 1875.
