Wilma Nell "Mickie" Gann went to be with her Lord and Savior on her 73rd birthday, September 25, 2008.

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 28th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Johnson's Funeral Home.

The service will be held on Monday, September 29th at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in San Angelo, Texas.

Wilma Nell Hester was born on September 25, 1935 in Wingate, Texas to Rickman and Daisy Hester. Mickie moved several times during her adult life but eventually settled in Winters, Texas with her husband, Johnny Gann. Wilma worked for over twenty-five years at Drys Manufacturing Plant in Winters, Texas. Shortly before her husband's death, Mickie relocated to San Angelo. She served as a longtime member of the Southside Baptist Church in Winters, until recently transferring her membership to First United Methodist Church in San Angelo.

Mickie was always known for her loving and gentle spirit but also for her witty sense of humor.

Mickie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Johnny Gann. She is also preceded in death by her father, Rickman Hester, her two sisters, Wanda Jean Sowell and Rickie Dell Mixson, her brother-in-law, James Mixson, and son, Joey Bowers.

She is survived by her mother, Daisy Sims of Bronte. Survivors also include her two daughters, LaQueta Shelburne and husband Harold and LaRita Wilder and husband Fred, all of San Angelo. Her three sons, Andy Gann and wife, Elvia of Corpus Christi, Mike Bowers and wife, Mary Ann of Coleman, and Ronnie Gann and wife, Cindy of Winters. Other survivors include her brother, D. W. Sims of Bronte, sister Johnnie Luttrell and husband, Tom of Odessa, and brother-in-law, Roland Sowell of Bronte. Her grandchildren include, Amy Turner and husband, Chris of Monahans, Stephanie Williams and husband, Drew of Oklahoma City, Mercyla Fly and husband, Brad of San Angelo, Mesha Millsap and husband, Allen of San Antonio, Jody Wilder and wife, Tanya of San Saba, Jason Gann and wife, Grace of San Antonio, Meagan Hunnicutt and husband, Tim of San Angelo, Aaron Gann of Big Spring, Elizabeth Bowers of Lewisville, Andrea Bowers of Coleman, Ashley Gann of San Angelo, Michael Bowers of Coleman, and Angela Gann of Winters.

In addition, Mickie had 10 great-grandchildren: Katelyn and Zach Turner of Monahans, Abigayle and Amory Fly of San Angelo, Christine and Alexandria Williams of Oklahoma City, Christopher and Kayla Wilder of San Saba, and Isabella and Sophie Gann of San Antonio.

The family would like to extend great thanks to Dr. Roberta Henshaw at Shannon Medical Center and the staff and doctors at the West Texas Renal Center for their years of service. The family would also like to thank Angels Home Health Services, the San Angelo Paramedics, and the staff at Shannon Hospital that cared for her in her final hours, especially Dr. Melissa Powell.

She will be greatly missed but is now with the Lord where there is no more sickness or pain.

The family asks that memorials be sent to First United Methodist Church or a charity of their choice.
