JOHN MIDDLETON

Wealthy Farmer of Burlington, Passes
Away.

John Middleton, a well known and
respected citizen of Burlington town-
ship, died at his home April 11, 1905.
He was born in Westmoreland, England,
November 17, 1835; came to
America in 1854 and settled in Burlington
township where he had always
made his home. He married Eleanor
Varty, July 18, 1858. To this union
were born nine children, four of whom
died when small. He is survived by a
widow, three sons and two daughters.
The children living are: Mrs.
James Shuey, of Collins, Ia.; Robert
and Mrs. George Russell, of Burlington;
Ernest, of Sycamore, and Fred, who is
Still living at home.
