of the vicinity of Sycamore and
the mother of nine children, died at
about 6 o'clock on Tuesday evening
while on a visit to her son, Robert
Mlddleton, 832 DeKalb avenue, this
city.
Eleanor Varty, daughter of Daniel
Tarty and Margaret (Harrison) Varty,
was born. at Kendall, Westmoreland,
England, on May 6, 1836, and was there
educated and confirmed in the Church
of England.
In 1855, when she was 19 years of
age, she came with the family to the
United States, and settled on a farm
east of Sycamore, where the father
was engaged in farming. He also
served as a preacher at intervals.
Here the daughter was married on July
18, 1858, to John Mlddleton, and for
many years they occupied a farm in
Burlington township; Kane county,
where their large number of children
were born and grew to lives of usefulness.
