______________________________
Willie Lee was born in Shullsburg, Wis., Feb. 7, 1883, and died June 29, 1901, aged 18 years, 4 months and 22 days.
The deceased was the second son of Sheriff J.C. Lee of Darlington, and his death was the result of a very painful and unexpected accident, whilst engaged in his daily avocation. Instantaneously and without a moment's warning he was summoned from off the state of mortal action, and we have no parting word or farewell testimony.
Willie Lee was a young man of steady and industrious habits, well known and highly respected by the community in which he lived. He was upright and trustworthy in moral character, and was much esteemed by his friends and associates as a companion and friend; a dutiful son and a joy an delight to all in the home; "he will be missed for his seat will be vacant."
The funeral services were held at the farm residence in the town of Seymour Monday afternoon, and the remains were taken to Shullsburg for interment. The procession was nearly a mile long, and the expressions of sympathy for the sorely bereaved family were deep and widespread.
The last sad rites were conducted by Rev. Wm. Atkinson, pastor of the M.E. church of this city, assisted by the members of the Shullsburg M.E. choir.
