Mrs. Margaret Rocker Weil, 85, widow of Tillman J. Weil, died of pneumonia at 11 o'clock Tuedsay morning a tthe home of a son Arthur E. Weil, 1788 Pierce street. She had been ill for only one week.
Mrs. Weil was born in Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany, July 13, 1845, and had been a resident of Lafayette for 65 years. She was married to Mr. Weil June 13, 1870, to which union four children were born. She was an active member of Brown Street M. E. church for many years. Her husband died in 1913, since which that time she had been living with her sons.
Surviving are two sons, Tillman and Arthur E. Weil, of this city; three step-daughters, Carrie M. and Anna B. Oversearch and Nancy C. Niehus, Lafayette; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Rogers and Smith funeral home, where it may be viewed. Funeral services will be held Thurdsay aternoon at 2:30 o'clock from Brown Street church, with interment in Greenbush cemetery.
