William Thomas Hardesty, 61, of Payneville died Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, at his residence. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam. Mr. Hardesty was preceded in death by his parents, William Michael and Beatrice Irene Allen Hardesty; three sisters, Jean, Margaret and Ruth Hardesty; and one brother, Willis Hardesty. He is survived by four sisters, Mary (Mike Judd) Allen of Harrodsburg, Phyllis (Rick) Kendall of Brandenburg, Georgia (Ed) Gordon of Elizabethtown and Martha (Joe) Lambert of Brandenburg; two brothers, Michael R. (Mona) Hardesty of Guston and Paul (Betty) Hardesty of Brandenburg; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral is at 3 p.m. Tuesday from St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Payneville with burial in the church cemetery with full military honors. Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Hager Funeral Home in Brandenburg. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Disabled American Veterans.
