Maria Hawley Dead in Ottawa, Kansas

Former Marysville Woman Passed Away Wednesday—Burial at Milford Center Friday

Undertakers M.. and Davidson received a telephone call Wednesday afternoon from Miss Clara Hawley, at Columbus, stating that her half sister, Miss Maria Hawley, had passed away Wednesday morning at the home of her sister Mrs. Mary Robinson, wife of Calvin Robinson at Ottawa, Kansas and that the body would be brought to Milford Center and interred in the Hawley Family plot on Friday. The body will be forwarded from Ottawa Thursday.

Miss Hawley, up until two years ago was a resident of Marysville residing on South Plum Street in her own property, which she sold to Marion Hopkins prior to going to take up her residence in Ottawa with her sister. She was in failing health at that time.

Miss Hawley was born in the county and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Hawley who were for many years residents of Marysville. They lived in the brick residence on East Sixth Street now occupied by J.M (illeg) family. The Hawley Family was well and favorably known to the older residents of Marysville.
