JEREMIAH MILLS is believed by this researcher (ash) to be the son of William Mills (#1) and his wife, Amy, of Essex County (now Union County), New Jersey. Jeremiah and believed brother, William Mills (#2), were administrators of the estate of William Mills (#1) (abt. 1722-1795) of Essex County (now Union County), New Jersey. [1]

He married 12 November 1766 at the Presbyterian Church in Westfield, Westfield Township, Essex County (now Union County), New Jersey to Elizabeth Marsh, said daughter of Samuel Marsh.[2]

The name of Jeremiah Mills was found among the records of the Scotch Plains Baptist Church in Scotch Plains, Union County, New Jersey as a communicant member. [3]

Other Mills family members were also communicant members and are buried in this cemetery, as was Jeremiah's and Elizabeth's son, Samuel Marsh Mills. It is believed at this time that Jeremiah and Elizabeth are also buried in this cemetery, although no burial record or gravestone has been located for neither Jeremiah nor Elizabeth.
