Kenneth Franklin Kellum was the only child born to John William & Sarah Ann ( Vaughn ) Kellum.

He was born on a farm in Industry Township, McDonough County, Illinois. Growing up on a Farm provided Kenneth with the skills that he would need when he chose Farming as his adult career.

At the age of 23 years, Kenneth married his soulmate, Vera Alberta Plank. Vera was a daughter of Marion & Mary ( Barrett ) Plank. Kenneth & Vera were married on August 11, 1929 in Rushville, Schuyler County, Illinois.

As young marrieds, Kenneth and Vera set up housekeeping & farming one mile south of Doddsville, Illinois. They lived at this residence for 34 years.

To this union were born 2 daughters :
Betty Louise ( Kellum ) Carnahan
Barbara Lee ( Kellum ) Black.

In 1963 when Kenneth retired from farming, he & Vera moved to a smaller farm & home located in Bethel Township, McDonough County, Illinois.

He lived all of his life in the Doddsville and Industry communities.

Kenneth had multiple health conditions during the last ten years of his life. He passed away at his home on August 26, 1977 from an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services were held August 29th at 2 p.m. Clugston Funeral Home was in charge of services with the Rev. Wilbur Payne officiating.

Interment was at the Industry Cemetery, Industry, Illinois.

Surviving to mourn his loss were : his wife, Vera ; a daughter Mrs. Bill ( Barbara ) Black ; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, John & Sarah Kellum and one daughter, Betty Louise Carnahan.

Kenneth Kellum of Macomb Dies
Kenneth F. Kellum, 71, of RR 4, Macomb, died at 10:30 a.m. Friday at his home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, at Clugston Chapels in Macomb. Rev. Wilbur Payne will officiate. Burial will be in the Industry Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel in Macomb after 10 a.m. Sunday until time of services. The family will meet with friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund.
Mr. Kellum was born Jan. 8, 1906, at RR Industry, the son of John W. and Sarah E. Vaughn Kellum. He married Vera Plank Aug. 11, 1929, in Rushville. He lived all of his life in the Doddsville and Industry communities. He was a farmer and a member of the Doddsville Methodist Church.
Mr. Kellum is survived by his wife ; one daughter, Mrs. Bill ( Barbara ) Black of Colchester ; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter.
