Son of Petrus VanWagenen III and Sara Louw.
Married Maria Freer 24 Apr 1799.

Served with the 92nd Regiment of Heavy Artillery during the War of 1812, enlisted 13 Jul 1812 and discharged on 13 Jul 1817 and served at Lake Ontario and the Battle of Lakes Mills. Military discharge described him as age 42, 5 feet 9 inches tall, light complexion, blue eyes, brown hair and a mason by trade. He received Land Bounty Right of 160 acres but soon thereafter lost it all to taxes.

Aert, who was commonly referred to as Archa P. Van Wagenen had three children: Magdalen, Jonas and Alexander.
