Leavenworth, Kan. — Alice Blanck

Alice Marie Blanck, 83, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 9, 11 a.m., at Coronation of Our Lady Church, 13000 Bennington, Grandview, Mo., with entombment following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 8, at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, Mo., from 5 to 8 p.m., where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m.
Alice was born Sept. 5, 1926, in Boonville, Mo., to Henry and Mabel Bechtold.
She married Albert "Al" Blanck on Nov. 28, 1946. She worked for the Department of Defense for 20 years as a budget analyst.
After retirement, Alice and Al loved to travel throughout the U.S., and Canada.
Her hobbies included quilting and painting. She was recognized for her talent for quilt making.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Max and Jim Bechtold; and one son, Jim Blanck.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Al Blanck; daughter, Margaret "Sue" Filbert and husband Mike; sons, Frank Blanck and wife Diana; David Blanck, Richard Blanck and wife Lori; Steve Blanck; daughter-in-law, Diana Blanck; brothers, Harold and Bob Bechtold; sisters, Ellen Phillips, Virginia Schulte, Mary Jean Wasleski and Dottie Hays.
She also leaves 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
