Portage County Gazette Obituary:

Martin J. Przybylski, 83, 1016 Sixth Ave., Stevens Point, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at St. Michael's Hospital.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin C. Louis officiating. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and in the St. Faustina Room of the church from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the Mass. St. Peter's Holy Name Society will combine with the parish rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Przybylski was born Oct. 3, 1924, in Portage County, a son of the late John and Mary Przybylski Sr. of Dancy. He attended schools in the town of Carson and also the technical school in Stevens Point.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He entered the service on Jan. 25, 1943, and served at Fort Sheridan, Ill., Camp Blanding, Fla., Bay Shore, San Francisco, Calif., and in the Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant on May 10, 1944, in Modesto, Calif.

He was married to Claire Kitowski on July 7, 1945, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Mill Creek.

The couple settled in Stevens Point.

He was a truck driver for Steffke Freight and a truck driver and dock foreman at C.W. Transport Co. for 40 years before retiring on Jan. 1, 1987.

He was a member of St. Peter's Holy Name Society.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Mark (Laura), Chicago, Ill.; one brother, Jerome (Gertrude), Stevens Point; and one grandson, Joseph, Chicago, Ill.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Roy, on July 3, 1988; six brothers, Alois, Joe, John, Edward, Mike and Frank; and two sisters, Regina Polley and Elizabeth Guzman.
