Lou lived with her brother, Giles, in Salem, VA at the time of the 1870 census. This was after her father's death in 1865 and her mother's 2nd marriage to James A. "Cricket" Flowers on 14 Apr 1870 in Roanoke County, VA. Lou married Jefferson Davis Chapman 7 Apr 1885 in Cabell County, WV. Jeff was the son of Henry Menifee Chapman and his wife, Mary Anne Wooten.
