Friday evening at 7:45 o'clock, John d. Baker, resident of the Windfall community since 1878 and a resident of the town of Windfall for over 45 years, died at his home in that place, death ending an illness of some time caused by diabetes. John. D. Baker was for many years engaged in
the hardware and real estate and insurance business in Windfall and was one of the best liked and well known men of that community. Born in Ohio, 77 years ago, near Wyandotte he came to Tipton county in 1878 locating on a
farm northeast of Windfall where he resided for 10 years, before removing to Windfall where he engaged in the hardware business, continuing in that business many years.
During his long business career in Windfall he was actively identified with the business and upgrowth
of the Windfall community, being known as a progressive
up to date business man. The deceased was united in marriage to Miss Della Murphy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Murphy, in 1880 and one daughter survives, Mrs. kellar Beeson, whose husband is a member of the Purdue Univrsity faculty. The wife died February, 29, 1932. One brother William Baker survives, and he is also survived by three grandchildren.
