John Robert Davison first married Alta Oates on April 5, 1904, in Shelby County, Texas. Alta was a distant cousin of John's. John and Alta had one son, George Klein Davison, born 20 Feb. 1905, in Appleby, Nacogdogches Co., Texas, and died 1 Mar 1970, in Sacramento, Sacramento Co., California.
John later married his first cousin, Minnie Oates Alexander on January 19, 1929, in Montgomery Co., Texas; however, this marriage ended in separation. Minnie was the daughter of John's uncle, Stephen M. Oates.
John Davidson married a much-younger widow, Leta Leggett Morrison, and they had a daughter, Caroline Joe Davison Ramsey (born Jan. 17, 1937--not 1936 as her tombstone states).
