Early settler of Lima township. Married in PA. to Susan Teetz of PA. Moved to Ill., then Wi. in 1868 mostly by steamboat. Sect. 32 Lima township took land built a log house, and started farming with an ox team. He had 116 acres which he cleared with the help of his son Lawrence M. Asahel was one of the prominent men of the township serving as treasurer, on the school board ,and other offices. Susan died at the home of her son Lawrence in 1907 March.
