A resident of Marion for 12 years, previously residing in Marengo, Oh. and Columbus, Oh. Survived by wife, Mary A. Bohn Wingate of Marion, Oh., whom he married September 1947 in Columbus, Oh.; sons, David L. (Cindy) Wingate and Michael R. (Debra) Wingate, all of Marion, Oh.; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Barb) Hern of Columbus, Oh.; sisters, Mrs. Paul (June) Carlson of Columbus, Oh. and Mrs. Howel (Ruth) Shaffer of Springfield, Oh. Preceded in death by son Robert O. Graveside service and interment 2 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2002, Alum Creek Friends Church Cemetery, Marengo, Oh.
