Obit: Perschke, August C. (3 Feb 1871 - 14 Aug 1938)
August C. Perschke of Unity died Sunday at the age of sixty-seven years at the home of his son, Chester Perschke, at Grand Rapids, MI., following a lingering illness due to complications. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Trinity Lutheran church in Unity, Rev. J.A. Olson officiating, and burial was made in the Colby Cemetery. Paul bearers were Albert Weiland, Chas. Runge, Marion Fuller, Elmer Carlson, Carl Wilke and Seymour Gustafson. Those in charge of the flowers were Mrs. Frank Jordan, Mrs. Ed. Feit, Mrs. Harry Mandel, Mrs. E. Capes, Mrs. Wm. Schulz, Mrs. Carl Wilke.

The deceased was born February 3rd, 1871, at Kiel. After graduating from the Sheboygan Business college he became interested in the Brillion Lumber company. He was married to Miss Alma Suhr at Brillion March 8, 1898, and in 1900, they moved to Colby, where he and his brother, Otto Perschke organized the Colby Manufacturing company. He located at Unity in 1911, where he served 12 years as a member of the school board and two years as a member of the village board of trustees. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church.

Surviving are the widow; five children, Chester Perschke, Grand Rapids, Mich., Mrs. John Murphy, Detroit, MI., Leslie Perschke, Edgerton, Orland Perschke, Beaver Dam, and Carroll Perschke, Wisconsin Rapids, and two brothers, Charles Perschke, Sheboygan and Otto Perschke, Unity.

PERSCHKE--August C. Perschke, age 63, passed away Sunday at this son's home Turner Ave. N.W. He is survived by his widow, Alma, four sons, Chester of Grand Rapids, Lester, Orland, and Carrall of Wisconsin; One daughter, Mrs. J.R. Murphy, of Detroit; three grandchildren; two brothers of Wisconsin. The body will be sent to Unity, Wis., for funeral services and burial. Arrangements by Rauschenberger funeral home.


(Note: Married Alma Suhr in Brillion, Calumet Co., her birth place. Alma returned there from Colby following his death. She died in 1960 and is buried there.)
