Ralph Robert Burgin was born June 4, 1904 at Sioux Falls, S.D. He was the son of John and Isabella Burgin, He moved with his parents to Milford when he was one year old. He attended school at Milford and graduated from Milford High School in 1925. After school he went into the drycleaning business working at St. James, Minnesota, 1935-1945.

He was united in marriage to Muriel Lofgren of St. James in 1938. To this union two sons were born; Wesley of Milford and Stanley of Orlando, Florida. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Milford.

Ralph purchased the Burgin Cleaners and Clothiers in 1945 and had been active in business until his illness.

He died on October 22, 1972 at the Spencer Municipal Hospital of a lingering illness.

Services were held at the First Lutheran Church in Milford October 25 with Rev. Vincent Fricke, officiating. Soloist, Ruth Fitchett, sang, "Some Day You'll Understand", and "Safe In The Arms of Jesus", accompanied by Mrs. Irvin Schnell. Mrs. Chuck Leitch and Mrs. Ike Erickson were in charge of floral arrangements.

Pallbearers were Chuck Tielbur, Irwin Gressley, Ralph Griffith, Leighton White, Ike Erickson, and Roy Luchtel. Ushers were Dale Johnson and George Baumbach.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters; Mrs. Glen (Irene) Goodwin and Mrs. Guy (Faye) Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Nuriel, and sons, Wesley of Milford, Stanley of Orlando, Florida, and Robert Geckler Burgin of LaJolla, California: two grandchildren, Mitchell and Daniel Burgin of Milford.

Interment was at the Milford Cemetery of Milford.
