"Mr. J. L. Crump Jr., age 84 of Clyde, formerly of Coleman, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010 in Hendrick Hospital in Abilene.

"Mr. Crump "Snooks" was born July 3, 1925 in Coleman to John Lafayette Crump and Hattie May Wheeler Crump. "Snooks" loved playing the guitar and tennis, he was loved by all who knew him. On January 27, 1951 he married Nelma "Tee" O'Shields in Coleman. He worked until retirement as a meter reader for the City of Coleman. "Snooks" was a member of Central Baptist Church.

"He is survived by 1 daughter and son in law; Susan Annette and Dwayne Justice of Abilene, 1 son and daughter in law; Tommy Don and Debora Crump of Clyde, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, numerous other family and friends. Mr. Crump was preceded in death by his loving wife "Tee", his parents, 2 brothers; Jack and Bud.

"Visitation will be Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Walker Funeral Home.

"Service will be Friday, April 16, 2010 at 2:00 P. M. at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Bro. David Humber of Texas Avenue Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home."
