Robert Graham Grimmet, 60, of Idaho Falls, died April 20, 1992, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of pneumonia.

He was born July 8, 1931, at Provo, Utah, to Arch Thomas and Marilla Graham Grimmett. He attended schools in Provo and Idaho Falls. He attended Brigham Young University, where he obtained bachelor's and master's degrees.

On June 24, 1961, he married Peggy Jo McIntosh at Butte, Mont. They were later divorced. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1953, and in the National Guard and Reserves from 1954 to 1974, where he was a lieutenant colonel and a member of the Retired Reserve.

He had published a book and numerous articles. He was assistant principal and athletic director at Skyline High School and had twice been named the State Athletic Director of the Year. He had also been assistant principal at Clair E. Gale Junior High School and taught government classes at Idaho Falls High School.

He was a member of the LDS Church.

Survivors include his daughters, Renee Lee Grimmett of Denver and Michele Ann Grimmett of Moscow; his mother of Idaho Falls; and a brother, William Steven Grimmett of Idaho Falls. He was preceded in death by his father.
