Edra Murphy Eckler, 78,of Irvine, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at her home following a short illness. She was born Oct. 18, 1932, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Hazel Vivian Isaacs Murphy. She was a retired teacher's aide with the Estill County Board of Education and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She had lived in Estill County all of her life. She was preceded in death by a sister, Eula Gardner; and a brother Donald Murphy.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Bill A Eckler; a daughter, Rebecca Blevins and husband Todd of Estill County; a son Bill Allen Eckler II and wife, Bonnie of Berea; five sisters, Ima Ward of Virginia, Beulah Ladd of Lexington, Margie Barker of Lancaster, Mary Wilson of Louisville, and Madge Miller of Irvine; three brothers, Everett Murphy of Richmond, Bonny Murphy of Irvine, and Tony Murphy of Ravenna; and six grandchildren, Adam Benton, Brett Benton, Evan Eckler, Emily Eckler, Cody Duff and Chelsea Dugg.
Funeral services at the Calvary Baptist Church by Bro. Todd Blevins, Bro. Sam Miller and Bro. Keith Sands. Burial at the West Irvine Cemetery.
