Avon High School Superintendent

Ade was a Hendricks civic leader and a hog buyer for Hygrade Food Products for 43 years, retiring in 1981. He was an Army veteran of WWII, receiving the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He died of Alzheimer's.

He was a past member of the Washington Township Advisory Board and had been the township's assessor and trustee. He served as the first president of the Avon School Board. He also had been president of Avon H.S. Band Boosters, vice president of Avon PTO, and a cubmaster of Avon Cub Scouts. He was named co-alumnus of the year by the Avon H.S. Alumni Association.Survivors include wife, Mary (Dooley) McClain; children Rex D., Linda McClain, Nancy Munn; three granchildren; five great-grandchildren.
