JERROLD C. "JERRY" MUELLER, 81, of rural LaOtto, died Saturday, July 23, 2011, at 3:09 p.m., after a brief illness. Born Sept. 20, 1929, in Ligonier, he was the son of the late Robert William and Ruth Mildred (Waller) Mueller. He married Joy Weirick Mueller on May 28, 1949, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kendallville, she passed away on Oct.15, 2010. He was an over the road Truck Driver for many years, driving for Norwalk Trucking out of Norwalk, Ohio. He also worked as the Maintance Man for Coloniol Apartments in Fort Wayne. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ege and a member of the Teamsters Union. In his formative years, he was an avid baseball and softball player, playing for various teams around the area. He was always a die hard Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. He loved traveling and spending his vacations in Flordia. He also enjoyed spending time taking care of his three parrots and his cat named Boots! He is survived by one son, John W. (Carla) Mueller of LaOtto; two daugters, Jan Mathews and Jeryl (Robert) Marshall both of LaOtto; nine grandchildren; five great -grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Martha) Mueller of Avilla; and sister-in-law, Delores Mueller of Garrett. He was also preceeded in death by son-in-law, Michael Mathew; brothers, Joseph R. and William Eugene Mueller; and sister, Marsha Bruce. In honoring Mr. Muellers requests, the family has chosen cremation to take place. Memorial Mass is 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in LaOtto. Father John Steele will celebrate the memorial mass. Burial of ashes will follow the mass at the Ege Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Riley's Chidlrens Hospital.
