Obituary: Obituary Collection by Borden Historical Society, page 364, column 2, no newspaper given, dated 8 Nov 1976, reads: - Howell Rites Set Thursday – Funeral services for Mrs. Edward f. Howell, 84, of 3115 Grant Line Road, New Albany, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Dieckmann Funeral Home, with burial in the Daisy Hill Cemetery, Borden. She died at 9:40 p.m. Monday at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital. She was the former Irma B. Leppert, a native of Borden and a member of Mount Tabor Presbyterian church and the New Albany chapter of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. Survivors are two sons, Joseph W. Howell, Falls Church, Va. and Earl F. Howell, New Albany; one daughter; Mrs. Cleo Nix, Carlsbad, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Phoebe Durham, Borden, Mrs. Nettie Cuppy, Henryville, and Mrs. Della Briles, Florida; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Memorial Fund at Mount Tabor Presbyterian Church.
