Obituary: Obituary Collection by Borden Historical Society, page 96, column 1, no newspaper given, dated 2 May 1979, reads: Mrs. Briles, 68, buried Saturday, Mrs. Della R. Briles, 68, died Wednesday, Apr. 25, at her home in Sellersburg. She was the former Della Leppert and a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include her husband, Woodrow W. Briles; a son, Charles O. Skaggs of Chattahoochee, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Rosemary Long of Louisville; two sisters, Mrs. Phoebe Durham of Memphis, and Mrs. Nettie “Leppert” Cuppy who died later the same day; and nine grandchildren. Bro. Charles Mitchiner conducted funeral services Saturday at the Daisy Hill Methodist Church in Borden. Burial was in the church cemetery.
