Harvey Carmen Cluff, 94, passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah, on December 2, 2003. He was born April 5, 1909 in Provo, Utah, the ninth and youngest child of Harriet Cullimore and Benjamin Cluff, Jr. He grew up in Provo and Salt Lake City, attending schools in those cities. From 1929 to 1932 he served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Central States Mission, laboring primarily in Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri.

On June 30, 1933 he married Eva Dorius in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Washington, D.C., where he pursued his education at George Washington University. He had joined the U.S. Army and was a reserve officer when World War II broke out and he was called to active duty. He served with honor in the Quartermaster Corps. During this time two children, John Robert and Kathleen were born. After the war the family lived for a short time in Seattle and then settled in Salt Lake City, where Harvey worked for the Veterans' Administration. From 1955 to 1957 they lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he was in business with his brother, Bill. In 1957 the family moved to Boise, Idaho, where Harvey lived until 2000, when he moved to Salt Lake City. In Boise, he worked as a field auditor for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Commodity Stabilization and Conservation Service for almost 20 years and received many commendations for his exceptional work.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints his whole life. His service included bishop's counselor and counselor in a district presidency. He and Eva worked for several years in the Church Employment Service in Boise and they served a mission to the Ogden, Utah, temple. He served as a faithful home teacher until the age of 91 and will be remembered by the many families whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eva, and all his brothers and sisters- Vida, Cyril, Ellen, Eldon (Bill), Waldo, Dolores and two brothers who died in infancy. He is survived by his two children, Kathleen (Douglas) Mather of Salt Lake City, Utah, and John (Vicki) Cluff of Twin Falls, Idaho, and 10 grandchildren- Joshua (Rebecca) Mather, Jacob Mather, Molly (Andy) Coffman, Mandy Mather, Margaret (Sean) McMurray, Benjamin (Jennifer) Cluff, Catherine (David) Sturgill, Jennifer (Derek) Byrne, Andrew (Rachel) Cluff and Elizabeth (Daniel) Boyce. At the time of his death he was awaiting the birth of two more great-grandchildren. Burial was done at the Salt Lake City cemetery.
